Lawn Mowing - REAL LIFE SKILLS (Student Video)

Updated: Jun 2, 2020

Handyman Abdurahman, will show us how to keep our home environment looking neat by cutting the grass and help mum and dad in the process. Note: Adult supervision is a must.

WHAT YOU NEED - Lawn mower

- Safety gloves

- Safety goggles

- Green bin

- Whipper snipper/ line trimmer

- Long grass/ lawn - Leaf Blower

PROCEDURE 1. Put on a pair of safety gloves and goggles. The goggles are to protect the eyes from any harmful substances or insects that may be found in the grass. The gloves will protect you from any cuts or germs that may be found in the grass.

2. Put the batteries in the lawn mower. Batteries store chemical energy and converts it to electrical energy.

3. Turn the lawn mower on.

4. Move the lawn mower over the long grass in straight lines.

5. Once the lawn mower gets heavy, turn it off and empty the grass into the green bin.

6. Repeat step 4 and 5 until all the grass is cut short then turn off the lawn mower.

7. Tell an adult to use the whipper snipper and trim the grass on the edges of the field/lawn.

Using the leaf blower, blow the left-over grass and leaves away from the footpath.
